for art's sake
last year, i found this graffiti on the wall of an abandoned shed up in the Rock and thought it was peculiar if not amusing. channeling Che Guevarra no less with a caption of "Viva La Revolucion", a friend thought a line from the movie Planet of the Apes was more appropriate "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!"
last week, another similar graffiti sprung up on a huge bare wall in Market Square (where all the cruise ship tourists pass by) and when i went there to take a pic, the MACHINE has taken it off :( but there was another one inside the Landport Tunnel going to Casemates Square so that one i took a photograph of.
the paper suggested that this could be the work of "Banksy", an anonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director and painter known for his stencilling technique and satirical dark humor.
