not-your-usual-winter

picture blue skies, sun shinin', tiny yellow flowers popping up everywhere, a balmy 17degC outside, dark, gloomy clothes finally fading and am starting to see a pop of lime here and a peek of tangerine there and of course, pink, pink, pink!
what better way to enjoy the "not-your-usual-winter's-day" than having a lovely strawberry shake and a pint of lager (for the mister!) under the Mediterranean sun in Casemate Square!
and what better way to end the day than with a glass of rosé and a bowl of the sweetest strawberries from the Moroccan fruit stall :)  SPRING is just around the corner! yabba-dabba-doo!!!!

  1. Sounds amazing. That shake looks realllly good. How long did you live in the Philippines and where? I was there around 1976. Came within minutes of meeting Imelda Marcos due to her body guards thinking I was a cute, sassy American kid (lol). I missed my chance because I went back to our hotel room (we stayed at the Philippine Plaza... don't know what it's like now but at the time it was AWESOME) to, of all things, change my shoes (oh the irony). When I came back down they had left to escort her to an event. Talk about a bummer.

    Erm, sorry for rambling. :)

    1. WOW! THE Imelda Marcos????? hahaha the shoes made you do it aarrghh!!! i like her style a lot and for a time after her husband's demise she had a fashion line going for a while but i dont know if its still running now :) i was born and raised in the Philippines (southern part) and went to university in Manila. i then moved to Singapore for work and from there travelled to various places in Asia and Africa (Morocco) and then eventually moved here in Gib about 3 years ago to be with my husband. yes, the Philippine Plaza Hotel is still standing and still giving you the best view of the famous Manila Bay sunsets :) which places did u visit when u were there wendy? do u ever wish u can come back and visit again? :)

  3. Lovely! I would definitely choose the strawberry shake over the lager.
